Why Publish in JAN?
Journal of Advanced Nursing is the one of the world's most widely disseminated international nursing journals publishing high quality research and scholarships.
- Eclectic Content
JAN does not seek to impose one model for practice, or give preference to particular research designs and approaches. It is advanced nursing when nurses question their practice within specific cultural, political, economic, social and technological context, asking whether their practice is evidence based, and as effective, efficient and compassionate as possible.
- Reputation
Since its launch in 1976, the reputation of JAN has grown with increasing submission of papers to the journal and an increasing international readership. This journal has become the one nursing journal to which institutions must subscribe, to keep their nurses up to date with the latest research findings and current thinking on a broad range of subjects of relevance to all nurses.
- Frequency
The journal publishes monthly, giving JAN readers access to around 250 articles a year.
- Impact Factor
The impact factor for this journal is high at 1.654, ranking it 5th out of 46 journals. Of the highest rated 15 journals, JAN is placed top in the category of international readership and author pool.
